The recommended limit of fluoride in water is 0.5 to 1.0 mg/L and anything above this level may call for a process of defluoridation.
Excessive presence of fluoride in water cause tooth decay. It is a growing concern in almost all parts of the world and it is not simply a third world problem. Another problem caused by the ingestion of excessive fluoride is fluorosis. This may cause an alteration in the appearance of your teeth.accpording to certain reports the risks of bone fracture increases with the rise of fluoride level in water. However, the report has not been backed by evidence as of yet.
